The fresh local isolate of Xanthomonas oryzae was clip inoculated at 15 days of transplanting and clip inoculation was repeated at 40 days of transplanting on the entry which did not show any symptoms. The rating of bacterial blight was recorded according to modified 1 to 9 SES scale. (2013).

Two row of 2.1 m length for each entry was planted. The national susceptible check TN-1 and state susceptible check GR-11 were planted after every 10th entry. The local susceptible check GR-11 was planted around the screening nursery.
