Investigation on volatile/non-polar insecticidal active compound in different bioformulations
Research Type
Departmental Research
Experiment Background
Bioformulations viz., Brahmastra, Agniastra, Neemastra, Dashparni ark and garlic + ginger + mint mixture are the indigenous bioproducts expected to be effective in the managing various insects-pest in organic farming/natural farming. However, after review of literature on this topic, we felt necessary that one should know the active insecticidal compound available in these bioformulations. Thereby it could be possible to formulate the future research programmes on these bioformulations against wide array of insect pests. Therefore, these products need to analyse in Gas Chromatography to identify the volatile/non-polar compounds having insecticidal activity in different bioformulations viz., Dashparni ark, Agniastra, Neemastra, Brahmastra and Garlic + ginger + mint mixture) and also necessary to evaluate their feeding inhibition against the larvae of S. frugiperda under laboratory condition. Therefore, the experiment is proposed with following objectives.
