Experiment code 18.2.4.63
Experiment Title Response of pigeon pea to foliar spray of nano nitrogen
Research Type Departmental Research
Experiment Background Imbalanced application of nitrogenous fertilizers and their low nutrient use efficiency (30-50 per cent) ultimately ends in polluting our soil, air and water. NO2 gases are an important cause of air pollution while nitrates leaching results in eutrophication and toxicity of our water bodies. Excess nitrate accumulation in crop also harms human health. Nano urea easily absorbed through leaves. Effectively of nano urea fulfills crop nitrogen requirement, increases leaf photosynthesis, root biomass, effective tillers & branches. Enhances Farmer's income by an increase in crop productivity and reduction in input cost. Because of higher efficiency, it can reduce the requirement of conventional Urea by 50 % or more. In the present investigation an attempt has been made to study the influence of nano urea on the growth parameters, yield attributes and yield of pigeonpea.
