Effect of different pesticides on pollen germination and fruit set in mango
Research Type
Departmental Research
Experiment Background
Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is also known as the king of the fruits. Low productivity of mango may be due to poor pollination and fruit drop. Flowering in mango is an important event as it marks the physiological start of fruit production. Temperature play major role in mango flowering and fruit setting. Moreover, mango is attacked by different pest and diseases. To manage major pests and diseases heavy pesticide load was also carried out by mango growers. By considering this, the present study will be carried to know effect of different pesticides on pollen germination, fruit set and yield in mango.
