| Experiment Background | South Gujarat comprising seven districts, having vast variability in ecosystem and majority of the farmers are falls under the category of marginal and small farmers and having cropping, horticulture and dairy are component of farming system, hence for improving the livelihood of south Gujarat farmers this project will be helpful for upliftment of standard of living of farmers. Further, perennial irrigation through canal is available in many parts of the south Gujarat so, there is ample scope to take diverse and intensify cropping and farming enterprises for enhancing the productivity and profitability of the farming community along with generation of employment and regular stable income. South Gujarat is a center of orchards of horticultural crops particularly mango and sapota so, diversification and intensification of farming enterprises also help in making the farming more sustainable. | ||
