Sweet Potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.) is a popular tuber crop in India. It is a rich source of carbohydrates and calories.
In Gujarat, it is mainly cultivated in Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Vapi, Dangs, Ahmedabad, Kheda, Mehsana, Banaskantha and Kutch districts.
Yellow/orange flesh sweet potato contains high amount of Vit A, which fights against night blindness and meet the demand of Vit A in people to prevent malnutrition in poverty & tribal areas.
Therefore above experiment has been framed up to find out the best suited genotype of sweet potato for south Gujarat region.
