Experiment Background Sweet Potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.) is a popular tuber crop in India. It is a rich source of carbohydrates and calories. In Gujarat, it is mainly cultivated in Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Vapi, Dangs, Ahmedabad, Kheda, Mehsana, Banaskantha and Kutch districts. There is need of new variety in sweet potato. Therefore above experiment has been framed up to find out the best suited genotype of sweet potato for south Gujarat region.
