| Experiment Background | Because of high productivity, Eucalyptus has got attention by farmers and now it has become one of the most important agroforestry tree species in the world over. However, because of vide genetic variability in Eucalyptus it is important to select site specific genotypes/clones for successful plantations. Based on the results of the clonal evaluation trials at NAU, Navsari, the best performing clone has been identified. The same clone is used for collection of naturally open pollinated seed, which is supposed to have superior genotypes. Hence, the further tree improvement through selection of better genotypes by having block plantations trail is proposed. | ||
