| Experiment Background | Mango is an important tropical fruit, which is being grown in more than 100 countries of the world. It is an economically and nutritionally important tree fruit. Around more than 1200 varieties, cultivars are developed by different countries through different breeding methods. Most of the current commercial cultivars are selection rather than the product of breeding programs as juvenile phase is more than six years when hybrids are developed, un targeted characters has got through mutation breeding etc. the easiest method among breeding approaches is selection. So the present experiment has framed to do survey and collection of desired genotype from Gujarat. | ||
