| Experiment Background | This is a gamma irradiated (35 Gy) mutant of Grande Naine developed at ICAR-NRCB, Trichy by irradiating the ECS at BARC, Mumbai. The plant grows to a height of 210 - 230 cm, black blotches on the pseudostem, leaves are \ erect in nature. Bunch is cylindrical in shape with 14 to 15 hands and the fruits turn completely towards the peduncle. Male phase is partially covered by the persistent male flowers and bracts. Male flower bud is lanceloate in shape, brown in colour and the flowers are orangish white in color. Matured fruits are green and turn yellow upon ripening. Pulp is cream and sweet in taste. Resistant to fusarium wilt race 1. | ||
