Experiment code 18.4.3.33
Experiment Title Effect of different media on leaf propagation in Echeveria succulent plant
Research Type Departmental Research
Experiment Background Echeveria is a popular succulent plants having higher application as table pot plant for in urban horticulture. However, there is a problem of very few suckers which makes it difficult to propagate and is thus a costly plant. Propagation through leaf is new technique for propagation in succulents but the media has not yet been standardized. The experiment has been designed to study the effect of media for propagation though leaf in Echeveria succulent plant

Note:

  • Media will be prepared as per the treatment in the tray. Mature leaves of uniform size will be taken as propagating material during onset of Rabi season and placed in a way that 25% leaf will be covered by media.
  • No fertilizer application will be done till transplantation
  • Fertiliser application will be given 30 days after transplanting as below:

NPK 19:19:19  @ 200 mg/l of 20 ml/pot once 15 days

NPK 13-0-45  @  200 mg/l of  20 ml/pot once in 30 days
