Experiment Title | Study on comparison between organic and natural farming on crop productivity and soil health in rice based cropping system
Research Type | Departmental Research
Experiment Background | Rice is staple crop and Rice-based cropping systems has been recognized as an effective strategy for fulfilling the objectives of enhancing productivity for food security as well as judicious uses of resources and sustainable agriculture for the marginalized group of farmers. To sustain rice based agriculture, efficient cropping system can contribute to a great extent. An increase in demand for oilseeds and pulses can be successfully met through crop diversification in the rice based cropping system. The inclusion of pulses in rice-based crop sequences in south Gujarat condition has become attractive because of the high yield and remunerative. In the present scenario, both the state and central Government is focusing on natural/ organic farming for achieving sustainable productivity, food security as well as food safety. Therefore, it is a need to find out the efficiency of natural and organic farming on crop productivity and soil health in rice based cropping system. Keeping above facts in sight, the present experiment is planned.
