Experiment Title | Induction of offseason flowering in dragon fruit
Research Type | Departmental Research
Experiment Background | Dragon fruit is emerging as a most prominent crop across the state and country for its high value and demand. Dragon fruit being a photoperiodic plant requires longer daylight to bloom. It cannot produce flowering during November to April due to less photoperiod. To fetch a good market price during the scarcity period, imposing off season flowering can be one tool. Hence, the present study is proposed to check the effect of artificial light during short period season in dragon fruit under South Gujarat condition.
