Experiment Background
|
Grain sorghum [Sorghum bicolor L. Moench] is one of the most important crops in the world. It is considered the fourth cereal crops after maize, wheat and rice. Such crop can yield reasonably well under adverse conditions of low soil moisture and high temperature, although it responses well to irrigation. It is grown in different part of the tropical and subtropical regions in the world. In all sorghum growing areas of the world where rainfall unpredictability is a problem for subsistence farmers and where climate variability is becoming more extreme resulting in shorter and even more unreliable rainy seasons. Transplanting of sorghum is a key to risk management. |
