Experiment code 21.2.3.36
Experiment Title Response of sugarcane planted through single eye budded settling to nano DAP under south Gujarat condition
Research Type Departmental Research
Experiment Background Sugarcane is one of the most important industrial cash crops in both tropical and subtropical region of the world and a major export product of many developing countries.Nutrient management is most important in high demanding sugarcane crop for better growth and economical production. This commercially grown sugarcane crop responded to high dose of fertilizer and productivity may be increased, but there may be adverse effect on soil as well as environment and also reduces the profitability of farmers. Among the various plant nutrients, nitrogen requirement is high for sugarcane crop and beside nitrogen requirement, phosphorus and potash requirement is also high for sugarcane crop. To increase the efficiency of phosphatic fertilizers, it is require to go for various sources of nutrient fertilizers including nano DAP and it is used as different methods. Nano DAP is recently available and the response study of it on sugarcane is not available. Therefore, there is need to develop the most effective and economical practices for obtaining maximum yield as well as profitability by saving the phosphatic fertilizers by replacing with nano DAP.Therefore, this experiment is proposed on sugarcane planting through single eye budded settling.

T1: RDF (250-125-125 kg N-P2O5-K2O/ ha)as per recommended time

T2:75 % RDF as per recommended time + Foliar spray of nano DAP @ 4 ml/l water (Note-5)

T3: 75 % RDF as per recommended time + Foliar spray of 2 % Urea phosphate (Note-5)

T4: 75 % RDF as per recommended time + Foliar spray of nano DAP @ 4 ml/l water on settling in the nursery stage before one week of planting  + Foliar spray of Nano DAP @ 4 ml/l water (4 time as per below Note No. 5)

T5: 75 % RDF as per recommended time + Foliar spray of 2 % Urea phosphate on settling in the nursery stage before one week of planting  + Foliar spray of 2 % Urea phosphate

(4 time as per below Note No. 5)

NOTE:

1.  25 t/ha FYM or 15 t/ha Bio compost applied as basal

2. P2O5-K2O will be applied as common basal application in all treatments.

3.  A separate Absolute control (No NPK application), 75 % RDF, Foliar sprays of nano DAP @ 4 ml/l water at planting , 45 – 60 DAP, 90-105 DAP and 140-150 DAP (4 time) and Foliar spray of 2 % Urea phosphate at planting , 45 – 60 DAP, 90-105 DAP and 140-150 DAP (4 time) are also taken in the out side of the experiment in single replication in the same plot size in total four plot in the same experiment field.

4. 500 lit water/ha use for the spray (quantity of water used will measured at each spray and

recorded)

5. Foliar spray will be done at planting, 45 – 60 DAP (Day after planting), 90-105 DAP and 140-150 DAP (4 time) in the treatments T2, T3, T4 and T5
