Performance Evaluation of Drone Spraying Pattern in Sugarcane Crop Under South Gujarat Conditions
Research Type
Departmental Research
Experiment Background
With the advancement of precision agriculture, the use of drones for pesticide and nutrient application has gained prominence. Sugarcane, being a high-input crop, requires efficient and uniform spraying to optimize yield and reduce wastage. Traditional spraying methods, such as manual or tractor-mounted sprayers, often result in uneven application, excessive chemical use, and high labor costs. Agricultural drones offer a promising solution with their ability to cover large areas quickly, minimize chemical drift, and ensure precise application. This study aims to optimize drone spraying parameters such as altitude, spray volume, and flight speed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of sugarcane crop in South Gujarat.
