NRCB Selection 16 is an upcoming, elite biofortified banana variety developed by the ICAR-National Research Centre for Banana (NRCB) (ICAR-NRCB) in Trichy, set for release to combat vitamin A deficiency. It features yellow pulp with 10 times higher pro-vitamin A content than the conventional Grand Naine, offering a highly nutritious option, alongside disease resistance.
