Experiment code 22.4.4
Experiment Title Canopy architecture of sapota orchard
Research Type Departmental Research
Experiment Background Under the South Gujarat conditions many farmers have old saline sapota orchards (> 40 years) as well as very big upright trees due to that’s farmers facing harvesting problem. Moreover, productivity decrease year by year under south Gujarat (9.92 t/ha) only and the new plantations, production will start after 8-10 years. Farmers of South Gujarat have demanded for the pruning technology as well as canopy architecture for the Sapota.
