Investigation on pre mature dropping of reproductive parts of cotton due to biotic stress
Research Type
Non Project Trials
Experiment Background
Today cotton ecosystem is dominated by the Bt cotton in irrigated condition as early as April-May than recommended normal sowing of June-July in other areas without irrigation facility. Insect and diseases are known to causing damage to various reproductive parts. Bollworms, gall fly, alternaria, fruit/boll rot etc. are responsible for premature falling of reproductive cotton parts. Under south Gujarat condition premature dropping of fruiting body were frequent hence to find out the appropriate reason for the premature dropping the experiment is proposed.
