Experiment Title Persistence and dissipation behaviour of pyrazosulfuron ethyl in soil and water in transplanted rice field

Experiment Background Weeds are a major cause of yield reduction in rice. Pyrazosulfuron ethyl, a herbicide belonging to the sulfonylurea group, has been registered in India for weed control in rice crops. The herbicide pyrazosulfuron-ethyl has both foliar and soil activity. It is generally recommended as a pre-emergence herbicide in transplanted rice. Many field experiments revealed the bio-efficacy of this herbicide; however, no information is available on the persistence of this herbicide in paddy soil and water under south Gujarat conditions. Therefore, a field experiment is planned and purposed to generate the information pertaining to persistence and dissipation behaviour of pyrazosulfuron ethyl in soil and water in transplanted rice field
