Experiment Background | Afidopyropen is a newly introduced insecticide which is active against the sucking insects. The molecular target of afidopyropen is the TRPV ion channel, which only occurs in chordotonal organ sensory nerve cells. Afidopyropen selectively binds to the TRPV channels, causing them to open and generate continuous chordotonal nerve signals independently of joint movement. This false stretch signaling makes it impossible for the brain to detect sound, gravity and the movement and position of body parts. Deaf, disoriented and uncoordinated, afidopyropen treated insects rapidly cease feeding and die from dehydration and starvation. Government of India registered afidopyropen used in brinjal, cotton and cucumber for the control of crop pest viz. white fly and jassid. The information regarding dissipation behaviour and safety concern of this molecule in brinjal is not available under South Gujarat condition so considering all these facts this experiment is planned and proposed to generating information on these aspects with the following objectives | ||
