Experiment Title Nutritional Analysis of cultivated and naturally available edible mushrooms from the Dang district of south Gujarat

Experiment Background Mushrooms are the oldest single cell protein (SCP) foods of man, which are grown by bioconversion of post-harvest agricultural waste material like straw, dried leaves, waste from food industries etc. into valuable protein rich foods. These are very popular and valuable food items in modern dietary regimes because of their nutritional value. There are variety of naturally grown edible mushroom collected and consumed by tribal people of Dang Districts and were easily available in market. Along with these numbers of different oyster mushroom species and milky mushroom were grown artificially by the farmers of Dang. By considering all these points the present experiment was formulated to check out nutritional profile of these edible mushrooms from the Dang districts of south Gujarat.
