Experiment code 17.3.3.164
Experiment Title Impact of different level of Calcium Carbonate (CaCo3) on Growth and yield of Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus Spp.)
Research Type Departmental Research
Experiment Background Dang district is a well-known natural bowl of Mushroom fungi. Numbers of mushroom fungi were collected, identified and preserved from the Dang forest. Tribe casts were well known to collect, identify and consume edible mushroom since ancient past. Since recent past numbers of tribal farmers were moved in practicing oyster and milky mushroom production at their own farm by using locally available wastes and earning good income from it. The pH is an important factor for good production of oyster mushroom as Lime (CaCO3) is an important constituent in mushroom spawn production and is useful even to reduce contamination of other saprophytes in spawn production. By taking the idea this concept present experiment is formulated to see the effect of CaCO3 on oyster mushroom production and contamination of the other saprophytic pathogens.
