Experiment Title Development of Fuzzy based decision making model

Experiment Background Fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic deal with objects that are ‘matter – of – degree”, with all possible grades of truth between yes and no. Making decisions is one of the most fundamental activities of human and inhuman beings. Decision making is the study of how decisions are actually made and how they can be made better or more successfully. Decision making plays an important role in economic and business, management science, engineering and manufacturing, social and political science, biology and medicine, military strategy, etc. In this work, the alternative that leads to the outcome yielding the highest utility is chosen. That is, the decision making problem becomes an optimization problem, the problem of maximizing the utility function. Multi-Criteria Decision Making method enables to select the most appropriate alternative by evaluating them in terms of many criteria. e.g. If we want to choose best alternative among from n- alternatives (A_i,i=1,2….n), which are evaluate on the basis of m- criteria (C_j,j=1,2,…m) by p- decision maker (DM_k,k=1,2,…p), this method effectively solve ranking under a fuzzy environment. The conventional MCDM methods are seen inadequate to handle uncertainty in linguistic terms. Hence, it is proposed to apply MCDM methods with the fuzzy sets to cope with vagueness in a decision-making process.
