Experiment code 15.4.3.61
Experiment Title Impact of short term water logging on Ailanthus species
Research Type Departmental Research
Experiment Background The South Gujarat region is one of the heavy rainfall zone of Gujarat state situated in Western India. The region receives more than 1500 mm annual rainfall during monsoon season. This zone usually receives maximum rainfall within very short period of time. In variably, torrential downpour also causes difficulty to drain out the excess water and consequently causes water stagnant. Further, the region is one of the highly tree dense which has increased by 30 per cent both in urban as well as rural areas. However there is scanty information available on how temporary water logging is being adapted by the trees. Therefore, the present study is designed with the following objectives for understanding the water logging tolerance of tree.
