Treatment

Inoculum: Sporisorium scitamineum (Syn. Ustilago scitaminea) teliospores freshly collected from smut susceptible sugarcane varieties will serve as a source of inoculum.

Inoculation: The method of inoculation consists of steeping of setts for 30 minutes in a spore suspension of over 90% viability
