Experiment Title Awareness, perception and willingness of farmers to join Farmers‘ Producer Organization (FPOs) in South Gujarat

Experiment Background The India is agrarian economy and agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for about more than half of India‘s population. The agriculture faces numerous issues from production planning to production and selling of produce. The farmers face challenges in getting remunerative prices for the produces. To improve farmers‘ income by getting better prices various collective actions are carried out by farmers. To enhance the sustainable income of the farming community, farmers have to be united not only to avail inputs at the proper time with low cost, place, and quantity but also to avail marketing facilities and link to domestic as well as export markets through the FPOs. Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) are organization which made up of small and marginal farmers, that are supposed to ensure better income for the member farmers who otherwise, individually, may not have enough volume of both inputs and produce to optimize their income to get the benefit of economies of scale. Research Methodology

Location of Study: South Gujarat
 Research Design: Descriptive Research Design
 Sampling Design: Multistage Random Sampling Method
 In stage one two district of South Gujarat will be selected from the total districts of South Gujarat. In stage two out of selected two districts two talukas from each district will be selected randomly. In stage three five villages from each talukas will be selected randomly (Total 20 villages) and 15 farmers from each villages will be selected as a sample.
