Experiment code 18.2.4.62
Experiment Title Effect of foliar spray of organic liquids in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) under south Gujarat condition
Research Type Departmental Research
Experiment Background Pulses are the integral part of Indian agriculture. It plays an important role in the farming economy of our country due to their limited input requirements, soil enriching properties and suitability for growing in areas where moisture is limited. Chickpea is important pulse crop of the world occupying third position amongst pulses. In India gram is the leading crop and is grown in rabi season. As the plant nutrition is one of the most important factors responsible for the proper growth and development of plants, method of fertilization also plays an important role in supplying the nutrient to the plants because the efficiency of fertilizers applied in soil being low due to various losses and fixation. Foliar nutrition is designed to eliminate the above problems, particularly with respect to macro nutrients. Foliar application of major plant nutrients like nitrogen and potassium was found to be as good as soil application (Subramanian and Palaniappan, 1981).Keeping above facts in view, the present experiment is proposed with following objectives.
