Day by day use of chemical based farming increases but some people are being vigilance about their side effect. Farmers and other peoples are find way of sustainable agriculture and eco- friendly practices and organic farming practices is the only way to achieve it. Especially in Gujarat point of view, fruits and vegetables belt of south Gujarat can easily be brought under organic farming as these all crops have exports potentials. The resource poor areas of Bharuch districts also have good opportunities in organic farming.
More and more area increased under organic farming is become demand of present and coming era. All are eager to know how to build up capacity on organic farming practices. One way is exist and that is Training. Training imparted on organic farming practices is helpful to achieving capacity building of the farmers.
Training is a process that intends to improve skill and develop new abilities. It is low cost and highly productive method, extremely significant for speedy socio-economic development of the farming community.
No systematic survey has been yet carried out to know the potentiality of organic farming practices and measured an impact of training on organic farming. Farmers follow many organic farming practices for their crops, health consciousness and increasing yield quality. On the basis of these assumptions, why farmers have to follow organic farming, which issues are covered under training and its components and level of knowledge, adoption of organic farming practices followed in organic farming by respondents will be part of this study. To come at final conclusions of the above issues, a study entitled "Capacity building of farmers' through training on organic farming practices in Bharuch district of Gujarat State" is undertaken for research study. |
Research Methodology

Present study was conducted in Bharuch district. This study was conducted in collaboration with KrushiVigyan Kendra, which is working at Chaswad village in Netrangtaluka of Bharuch district. This KVK fulfil the training needs of farmers of this district.
For first year data (2021-22), the trainings, which were organized during the year 2021-22, and the trainees (100) i.e. the farmers who were trained, considered as sample size. For untrained farmers, the same sample size from the same villages was taken by using simple random sampling method. The care was taken to make sample size up to 100 - for trained farmer and 100 untrained farmers. Total 200 respondents were surveyed for this study.
The questionnaire was prepared in consultation with Scientist of Department of Agronomy and KVK Chaswad. The survey work was carried out with the help of KVK Chaswad and the data were collected with the help of well structured, pre-tested interview scheduled through personal contact and were compiled, tabulated and analysed to draw valid conclusions. The statistical tools were utilized viz., frequency, percentage, ranking ,Mean, S.D.,Correlation coefficient and Path analysis.
